I stand in front of the mirror,
but what I see is blank.
A silhouette hidden from sight,
nothingness expanding into anything.

Today I looked in the mirror.
Who I saw was..

…Not me.
not the girl I know.

She has better hair,
she has a better figure,
she has a better voice.

Longer,
skinnier,
quieter.

Maybe,
I think,
she’d just be better.

Why can’t she be me?
Why can’t I be her?
